Questions & Answers

Q: What is the difference between a graduate singing teacher and a senior one?

Answer: Graduate singing teachers are newly qualified teachers trained to the highest standard in the same techniques the senior teachers are. Senior teachers have more qualifications and experience and will be able to solve more complex vocal problems.

Q: How much notice do i need to give to book a singing or acting lesson.

Answer: We would advise giving us one week notice on when you would like to have your singing lesson. You may be able to phone up on shorter notice but please be advised our teachers may be booked up.

Q: Do you teach adults? Or is it just children?

Answer: VoiceAbility teaches students of all ages and abilities. VoiceAbility has teachers to suit any student and even adult groups in both Singing and Acting. However VoiceAbility is happy teaching any children older the 6 years old.

Q: Whats the difference in price for a graduate and a senior teacher?

Answer: A graduate teacher at VoiceAbility costs £20 per hour or £10 for half an hour’s lesson. Whilst a senior teacher costs £28 for an hour or £14 for half an hours lesson.

Q: Where on Prescot Road are you?

Answer: The VoiceAbility studios are based in between green lane and derby lane. A two min walk from the big Tesco store. We are right opposite St Anne’s School and the Salvation Army. If you see the shops ‘Tan City’ and ‘Hair City’ we are the door in the middle of those two shops! If you are getting a bus from Liverpool city centre you will need to take the no.10 bus.

Q: Which VoiceAbility teacher should i have to teach my lessons?

Answer: If you have never had any singing training before you will probably be better starting with a graduate teacher and then working your way up to a senior teacher. If you have had singing lesson before and looked at vocal technique then you will be better having a senior teacher. However, all VoiceAbility teachers are happy teaching any student.

Q: How long should my lesson last?

Answer: We would advise adults and teenagers to book hour long lessons to allow for enough time to warm up, work on technique and work on repertoire. We do recommend that any students between the age of 6 and 12 to start with half hour lessons then at the recommendation of their singing teacher to progress to hour long lessons when ready.
